The CW has officially cancelled Cult and pulled it from the schedule effective immediately.
Bad news, Cult followers: The CW has officially pulled the low-rated thriller off the schedule.
The network on Wednesday revealed its revised Friday night lineup spanning the month of April — and the Matthew Davis-starring drama is nowhere to be found.
Replacing Cult in the coming weeks are repeats of both The Carrie Diaries and Oh Sit.
Here’s news on Jessica’s upcoming film which will be screened at South by Southwest (SXSW). According to Deadline:
Onstage following the SXSW world premiere of Sony’s Evil Dead remake, director and co-writer Fede Alvarez announced that work on a sequel is underway. “We already started writing Evil Dead 2“, he said during a post-screening Q&A session at Austin’s Paramount Theatre. The April 5 release stars Jane Levy (Suburgatory), Shiloh Fernandez, Jessica Lucas (Cult), Lou Taylor Pucci, and Elizabeth Blackmore as a new quintet of youngsters who unleash evil from the Book of the Dead. Original Evil Dead crew Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell, and Rob Tapert produced the remake. Campbell suggested after the screening that plans call for a trilogy. Alvarez penned the horror update with Rodo Sayagues after their 2009 Spanish language short Panic Attack (Ataque de Pánico!) caught the attention of Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures. (Diablo Cody also earned a scripting credit.)
Effective immediately, Cult has moved to Fridays on The CW.
The CW is writing off midseason Tuesday drama Cult after two low-rated airings. Beginning next week, the serialized drama will move to Friday, airing at 9 PM. The CW will air repeats in Cult‘s Tuesday 9 PM slot, beginning with Beauty And The Beast next week.
I apologize for the earlier confusion. I was unaware that the site was only allowing visitors to view only the thumbnails and then if they wanted to view the album the gallery prompted them to login. Well I have fixed that now and access to the gallery for one and all is now available.
I’ve added a ton of images for Cult to the gallery. We have some promotional images as well as episodic stills from the next few episodes. So make sure you check out all of our newest additions.
